L.A. THEATRE WORKS
NEWS RELEASE

L.A Theatre Works goes Wilde with
"THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST"
starring James Marsters and Charles Busch
June 17-21.
WHAT:
James Marsters will star in the L.A. Theatre Works production of "The Importance of Being Earnest." Five performances will be recorded in front of a live audience for future radio broadcast June 17-21 at the Skirball Cultural Center in L.A. For tickets, call the L.A. Theatre Works Box Office at (310) 827-0889 or go to www.latw.org.

This final play from the pen of Oscar Wilde is a stylish send-up of Victorian courtship and manners, complete with assumed names, mistaken lovers and a lost handbag. Jack (James Marsters) and Algernon are best friends, both wooing ladies who think their names are Ernest, "that name which inspires absolute confidence." Wilde's effervescent wit, scathing social satire and high farce make this one of the most cherished plays in the English language. Actor, playwright, novelist, screenwriter, director and drag legend Charles Busch takes on the role of the irrepressible Lady Bracknell. All performances are recorded for broadcast on LATW's nationally syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts locally on 89.3 KPCC and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

WHO:
Written by Oscar Wilde
Directed by Michael Hackett
Starring James Marsters, Emily Bergl, Jill Gascoine, and Charles Busch as Lady Bracknell
Produced by Susan Albert Loewenberg

James Marsters Fans Queue Everywhere Game - Winners!

Utterly abusing the news feed here for just a moment to point out the awesomeness of James Marsters fans. You may or may not be aware that on the Sunday of the 100 Club gig Nicky (Buffy2k) and I (Erykah) ran a small game for our fellow fans. The game involved dashing around London getting your picture taken in front of as many London monuments as possible. All comers were welcome. At the 100 Club that night Steve Himber gave the prize out to the overall winners but everyone who joined in was so brilliant that we decided to give them all prizes.

Largish pictures from the game behind this cut )

Over all winners were Tripp and WriggleRosie for their sheer dedication to the art of queuing.

All the pictures from the day are up here.

Next time James is in London for a weekend of events (hopefully same time next year) we're planning to do a James themed scavenger hunt. All James fans will be welcome to join in. Details will be announced, naturally, only after we get details of what James is doing. I'll put them up here and on Facebook.

My "This is the James Marsters Queue" badges seemed very popular over the weekend, if you would like a badge or a t-shirt they are available on cafepress (at cafepress base rates. I'm making no money whatsoever from their sale).

Last but by no means least thanks to Steve and to JMLive for plugging it for us (it was most unexpected!).

If you're going to Hallowhedon and would like to state an advanced interest in joining in next time, then just lookout for the girls wearing tiaras.
